Nachdem ich dieses Jahr an zwei Decken mitgearbeitet habe und meine Entwürfe recht annehmbar aussahen, habe ich mich entschlossen, selbst mal eine Decke zu entwerfen, und dies sind die ersten drei Patches.

After I contributed to two afghans this year and my designs looked rather acceptable, I decided to design an entire afghan, and these are the first three patches.

Ich habe schon einige Versuche gemacht, Decken aus Resten zu stricken, und nie hat mir das Ergebnis gefallen. Daher beschränke ich mich auf zwei Farben aus Shibui Sock Yarn (100% Merino Superwash) und auf kraus rechtes Gestrick. Eine solche Beschränkung kann auch ziemlich befreiend sein.

I already made some attempts to knit an afghan from leftovers, but I was never satisfied with the result. Therefore I chose two colours (Shibui Sock Yarn, 100% Merino Superwash) and will limit myself to garter stitch exclusively. Limiting oneself can be rather liberating.

Ich werde das Rad natürlich nicht komplett neu erfinden.

Of course not each and every patch will have a design which has never been before.

Es wird auch nicht alles grafisch werden.

And there won’t be graphic patches exclusively.

Aber ein paar ungewöhnliche Ideen will ich schon einbringen.

But I have some rather unusual ideas for patches in mind.
