Dies ist ein sehr aufgehelltes Foto der Musterung des neuen Ganseys, auf dem man es so ungefähr erahnen kann. Aber Dunkelblau ist fast so gut fotografierbar wie Schwarz. Wie auch immer, ich bin NICHT bereits oberhalb der Armlöcher angelangt.

This is a very bright picture of the pattern section of my new gansey, which, of course is still hardly recognizable. But it’s really difficult to take a proper pic of a dark blue garment. However, I did NOT reach the upper part of the body yet.

Bisher widmete ich mich ja vorzugsweise dem cornischen Gansey, der nur eine relativ schmale Musterpasse besitzt. Nun stricke ich einen, der stilistisch eher in nördlichen Gefilden beheimatet ist, wo sich die Musterung über einen größeren Teil des Pullovers zieht. Das Muster ist in vielen Büchern zum Thema verzeichnet und wird in Norfolk lokalisiert.

The ganseys I knitted before were more Kernow style. In Cornwall they preferred to embellish only the upper part of the body. But this time I chose a pattern which comes from a region in the north, and there patterns used to spread over a larger part of the body. The pattern can be found in many books about traditional ganseys and comes from Norfolk originally.
