Das Heidetuch ist fertig, allerdings ohne Bindebänder, die lasse ich weg. Ich bin sehr angetan, und zwar in jeder Hinsicht: von der Wolle, den Farben, der Größe und der Form. Zum Ende hin war das Stricken doch etwas mühsam, da die Reihen endlos lang wurden, aber es hat sich gelohnt, finde ich. Es ist sehr leicht und lässt sich auch gut in der Tasche mitnehmen, für kühle Abende.

The Danish Tie Shawl is done, but without the ties which I didn’t do. I like it very much, in every way: the yarn, the colours, the size, and the form are definately mine. When I came to the last rows it seemed to me I would never make it ’til the end because there were a bazillion stitches on the needles, but now I can tell it was worth the efford. It’s a real lightweight and can be carried easily in a larger handbag for cool evenings.

Das Abketten erfolgte nach einer Technik, die ich noch nicht kannte, die aber einen flexiblen und dabei plastischen Rand ergibt. Der Preis für Flexibilität und Plastizität war allerdings fast ein ganzer Abend.

I did the cast-of in a special technique I never did before, but the result is a very flexible and ductile border. The price for flexibility and ductility was casting-off for almost the entire evening.

Heidetuch

Dieses Foto auf noch etwas räudigem Rasen verdeutlicht die Herzform, die für einen guten Sitz sorgt. Es bleibt auf den Schultern und haut nicht bei jeder Bewegung nach unten ab.

This picture, taken on a rather mangy lawn shows the shape, it’s rather like a heart than like a triangle. The result is an excellent fit. It stays where it’s supposed to stay and doesn’t go downhill when I’m moving.

And because this has at least some holes, I herewith declare it to the first lace project I ever finished. Even if experienced lace knitters die laughing. ;)
