Ja, das ist er nun, mein erster Versuch im Brettchenweben. Bis mir die Brettchen aus der Hand rutschten und ich mich nicht imstande sah, das Chaos zu entwirren. Dennoch bin ich nicht ganz unzufrieden. Natürlich habe ich mich bei der Drehrichtung verzettelt, und Sockenwolle ist auch nicht das beste aller Materialien. Dennoch ist das von mir produzierte Kurzteil im weitesten Sinne als “bortenähnlich” zu bezeichnen, und was wirklich ganz ordentlich geworden ist, ist die Fadenspannung.

Yeah, this is my very first attempt in card weaving, until I unfortunately dropped some of the cards. I felt unable to disentangle the threads, and so I just let it go for the moment. Anyhow, I’m not totally dissatisfied. Of course, I messed up the turning circles, and sock yarn is definately not the best of all possible materials. Nevertheless, one might call the very short thing I produced “band-like”, and I’m rather content with the tension of the weaving.

Nicht so zufrieden bin ich mit den Brettchen. Sie sind aus Pappe und waren als Beileger bei einem der Bücher dabei. Sie sind einseitig beschichtet, auf der anderen Seite aber rau, was letztendlich auch dazu geführt hat, dass sie mir aus der Hand gerutscht sind. Da muss ich eine andere Lösung finden. Aber es hat Spaß gemacht, und die nächste Borte folgt in Kürze. :D

What I’m not satisfied with, is the quality of the cards. They’re made of cardboard and came with one of the books. They’re coated on one side, but the other one is rather rough, what let me drop some of the cards. I’ll have to find a different solution here. But I can tell card weaving was great fun, and the next band will follow soon. :D
