So, nach den vielen Leckerbissen hier, bestehend aus Büchern, Garnen etc., ist es an der Zeit, meine ausschließlich strickende Leserschaft mal wieder mit einem handgesponnenen Garn zu langweilen. Dies ist Stansborough in Aran-Stärke. Es ist der erste Strang, den ich für einen Pullover aus dem Buch A Fine Fleece gesponnen habe, mehr davon sitzt noch auf den Spulen und wartet aufs Verzwirnen. Das Buch enthält einige Modelle, die ich gerne stricken möchte, und einige davon werden mir mit handgesponnenem Garn besser gefallen.

After the many attractive things I presented here lately (books, yarn), it’s time again to bore my just-knitting readers with some handspun yarn again. This is Stansborough, suitable for aran knitting. It’s the first skein I spun for a sweater from the book A Fine Fleece, and there is still some more of it sitting on the bobbins and waiting to be plyed. There is more than one pattern in this book I want to knit, and I know I will like some of them better when knitted with handspun yarn.

Stansborough stammt von einer der selteneren Schafrassen, deren Wolle nicht so häufig angeboten wird. Ich finde das Grau einfach unglaublich, ein mittlerer Ton, der in sich farblich changiert. Es ist sehr weich und damit gut für Pullover geeignet.

Stansborough is one of the rarer sheep breeds, and the roving is not available always and everywhere. I just love the colour, it’s a medium shade of variegating grey. It’s very soft and therefore suitable for sweaters.
