Da ich momentan nur an großen Projekten stricke, brauche ich auch mal wieder etwas, das fertig wird. Daher habe ich gestern die Handschuhe Aethelwyne aus dem Buch Knitting New Mittens & Gloves gestrickt. Es ist ein schönes, kleines, schnelles Projekt, das einen schmalen, vegetabil wirkenden Handschuh ergibt. Einzige Verzierung ist eine Reihe aus Noppen, die das Bündchen abschließt. Es soll laut Designerin and die Pilzkreise im Wald erinnern, die als Elfentanzplätze angesehen werden. Da ich diese Kreise aus meiner Kindheit kenne, war ich natürlich entzückt.

Currently I’m working on large, long-term projects. Therefore I felt the need to knit something small which will show a quick result. Therefore I begun yesterday the mittens Aethelwyne from the book Knitting New Mittens and Gloves which I finished today. It’s a small, nice, quick project, and the result is a leaf-shaped mitten. The only embellishment is a row of bobbles at the cuff. The designer says this shall remind of rings of mushrooms as they can be found in deep forests of which people say they are faeries’ dance places. I know these circles from my childhood, and therefore I was delighted by this little detail.
