Es ist nie zu spät, etwas Neues auszuprobieren. Nun bin ich beim Ärmel von Rogue angelangt und beschloss, ihn lieber in Runden zu stricken (weniger Nähte…). Nun stricke ich Ärmel nicht gerne mit Nadelspielen, da dies immer eine rutschige Angelegenheit ist, bei der oft Maschen verloren gehen. Ich habe zwar kurze Rundnadeln (40 cm), aber da ist eben auch der nadelige Teil kurz, und das ist unbequem. Dies war also die perfekte Gelegenheit, die Magic-Loop-Technik auszuprobieren, bei der man eine beliebig kleine Anzahl von Maschen mit einer beliebig langen Rundstricknadel in Runden stricken kann. Und ich bin sehr angetan davon, ich finde die Methode bequem, einfach und schnell. Wer auch daran interessiert ist, findet hier ein Video dazu.

It’s never too late to try out something new, I think. I’m done with the body and the hood of Rogue and had to start with the first sleeve. I decided to knit it in rounds (it’s less to sew, after all). The problem is, I dislike knitting sleeves with dpns. It’s a somewhat slippery thing, and there are always stitches which get lost. For this purpose, I have some short circs (40 cm), but the needly part of them is rather short, too, and that makes it uncomfortable to knit with. So this was the perfect opportunity to try the Magic Loop technique which allows to knit any small number of stitches with a circ of any length in rounds. And I’m very pleased with this technique, it’s easy, fast, and comfortable. In case you’re interestet, there is an educational video.
