Betta (leider blog- und damit linklos) und Cleo haben mir zwei tolle Sachen geschenkt, die ich Euch nicht vorenthalten möchte.

Betta (no blog, unfortunately) and Cleo gave these wonderful presents to me which I want to show.

In diesem unscheinbaren, auf Färingisch (!!!) geschriebenen Bändchen verbergen sich wahre Schätze: nämlich traditionelle Faröermuster. Das Ganze kommt (bis auf das Vorwort, das ich ignorieren werde) völlig textlos aus. Da ich solch einen Pullover plane, die Literatur aber wenig hergibt zu diesem Thema, ist es einfach perfekt für mich!

In this rather unimposing looking book, written in Faroese (!!!) a real treasure is hidden between its plain black covers: traditional Faroese knitting patterns. Except the foreword (which I will ignore) there is no text, just charts. I’m planning a Faroese Sweater and regretted the lack of patterns and literature, and therefore this book is just perfect for me!

Das zweite Geschenk ist unglaublich praktisch. Ich werde in Kürze wahrscheinlich gar nicht mehr wissen, wie ich ohne es leben konnte: Es ist eine Magnettafel zum Fixieren und Vergrößern grafischer Anleitungen. Jetzt habe ich keine Ausrede mehr, mich vor der Fair-Isle-Strickerei zu drücken.

The second present is unbelievably practical. I’m sure I will not know how I could live without it soon. It’s a magnetic board for fixing and magnifying of knitting charts. Now I have no excuse not to start with fair isle!
