Sariseide Blau

Houston, wir haben ein Problem… Vor längerem erwarb ich diese wirklich wunderschöne recyclete Sariseide. Ich habe 300 g in Blau (siehe Bild) und 400 g in Rot. Ich finde sie optisch genial. Vom Taktilen her… nun. Sie trägt sich nicht sehr angenehm (kratzt wie die Hölle). Sie strickt sich total mühsam. Letzteres wird mich nicht abhalten, ersteres schon. Nun frage ich mich, was ich mit dem Zeug machen soll, das meinen Lebensgefährten zu den Worten veranlasste: “wir verdienen doch beide, Du kannst Dir doch neue Wolle leisten!” (er hat nicht ganz unrecht, als Kleidungsstück stelle ich mir das einfach pfuibah vor…). Bei Knitty gibt es eine Tasche, die extra für dieses Material entworfen wurde. Das ziehe ich auf jeden Fall in Betracht. Aber hat jemand noch andere, zündende, phantastische Ideen zu diesem Thema?

I have a problem… some time ago I purchased this really wonderful, recycled sari silk. I have appr. 300 g in blue mix (as seen above) and 400 g in a reddish mix. I just love the way it looks. Touching it … well. It won’t wear really comfortable (scratches like hell). Knitting it is a pain in the neck. The latter won’t stop me, the former one definately will. Now I’m asking myself what to do with this material . My partner, after I told him what this is, said: “we have a double income, you can very well afford to by new yarn, it doesn’t have to be recycled one”. He is definately right: wearing it on the skin or even as a sweater must be just icky-manky-nasty. I saw a pattern for a bag in an older knitty issue. This is a good idea, but are there other suggestions, phantastic, creative ideas?
