After my rather short summer vacations some new books just arrived. Here we go:

Lynne Vogel: The Twisted Sisters Knit Sweaters – Hier geht es um das Anpassen von Schnitten an die Arbeit mit handesponnenen Garnen. Interessant für alle, die darauf angewiesen sind, Muster individuell anzupassen. Ebenfalls enthalten sind Modelle von ganz einfach bis anspruchsvoll.

 Lynne Vogel: The Twisted Sisters Knit Sweaters – This is basically about knitting garments with handspun yarn. It’s a good book for those who have to adjust patterns to their individual needs. There are some projects included, from very easy to rather challenging. 

Simply Shetland 4 – habe ich wegen des Autumn-Rose-Pullovers von Eunny Jang gekauft, aber es sind noch ein paar andere nette Sachen darin. Nachdem ich von den anderen Bänden, die ich mir mal angesehen habe, nicht so angetan war, ist dieser eine angenehme Überraschung. Und der Jang-Fair-Isle ist ein Knaller.

Simply Shetland 4 – I purchased thisone because of the Autumn-Rose Sweaters by Eunny Jang. But there are some more nice patterns worth taking a closer look to. Anyway, I don’t like the Simply Shetland books not that much, but this is a nice exception. And the fair-isle sweater by Jang just rocks.

Ron Schweitzer: Postcards from Shetland – Außergewöhnliche, eher geometrische Fair-Isle-Muster, die überwiegend in Naturtönen gehalten sind. Für mich als Neu-Spinnerin besonders interessant.

Ron Schweitzer: Postcards from Shetland – Exceptional, rather geometrical fair-isle patterns, mostly executed in natural shades. Since I’m new into the spinning business, this book is a great inspiration for me.

Lexi Boeger: pluckyfluff – Handspun Revolution – Designergarne der extremen Art. Ich wusste, dass es nicht unbedingt zum Nacharbeiten für mich geeignet ist, dennoch inspiriert es mich sehr. Trotzdem finde ich es für den eher mageren Inhalt viel zu teuer.

Lexi Boeger: pluckyfluff – Handspun Revolution – This is about Designer Yarns of the more extreme kind. I knew before thisone will not be for following the instructions step-by-step (at least for me), but I find it highly inspiring. Nonetheless it’s far too expensive compared to the content.

Cat Bordhi : New Pathways for Sock Knitters, Book One – Ein Sockenbuch, das neue Wege geht. Die Ergebnisse können sich sehen lassen und führen zu außergewöhnlichen, höchst interessanten Modellen. Dies ist ein Buch, das mich wirklich fasziniert und dem ich mich in Zukunft ausführlich widmen werde. Dies ist für mich das mit Abstand interessanteste Sockenbuch seit langem.

Cat Bordhi: New Pathways for Sock Knitters, Book One – This book describes different ways to knit socks which are dramatically different to the ones shown in the sock books I know. The results are stunning and exceptiona. This is a book that really fascinates me. I surely will spent hours and hours browsing through its pages and giving the different solutions a try. For me it’s the most interesting sock book I own.
