Die Feiertage haben wir gut überstanden, es war sehr lustig und entspannt.
Ich bin wild entschlossen, löblich mein Wolllager im neuen Jahr zu verstricken und plane auch keine Panikkäufe für dieses Jahr mehr. Nachdem ich nämlich eine Sichtung der Bestände vornahm, habe ich mit Schrecken festgestellt, dass ich doch noch etwas mehr Wolle habe als gedacht.
Dafür habe ich eine Bestimmung für mein Wollmeisengarn in der Farbe “Farn” gefunden. Ich hatte es bestellt, obwohl gelbgrüne Schattierungen nicht so meine Farbe sind. Ich wußte nicht, was ich damit anfangen sollte, bis meine Mutter mir erzählte, dass Gelbgrün ihre absolute Lieblingsfarbe ist und sie sich mehr damit umgeben möchte. Ich war entzückt, dies zu hören, denn jetzt weiß ich, was ich ihr zum Geburtstag stricken werde: einen Lace-Schal aus dem Wollmeisengarn, nach einem Muster aus dem Buch “Arctic Lace”. Ungünstig ist, dass sie bereits am 15. Januar Geburtstag hat und ich mich beeilen muss, damit das Teil fertig wird (meine Mutter ist 1,80 groß, und manche Schals sehen an ihr aus wie Taschentücher, von der Größe her).
Ich bin ganz gefangen vom “Cardigan for Arwen”. Das Rückenteil ist fertig, ich sitze an der ersten Vorderseite. Ich zeige kein Foto, da ein lila Rechteck in glatt rechts nicht unbedingt sehenswert ist.

The holidays are over now, even in Germany. It was very nice and relaxed, as it is supposed to be.
I look forward very much to knit from my stash: after overviewing the yarns I stored I found out that I have a bit more than I thought. It will be fun to knit with all these beautiful yarns, and I will not go out and buy more yarn until new year’s day (full of panic…).
I got an idea what to knit with the yellow-green yarn from Wollmeise. It has the colour of fern. I really love it, but this is absolutely not a colour which suits me (I just ordered because I liked it), and I did never find something for me to knit with this yarn. When we visited my mother for christmas, she mentioned that she fell in love with the colour green, especially a bright, radiant yellowish one. I was delighted to hear this, since the yarn will be perfect. I will knit her a lace scarf from the book “Arctic Lace”. Awkwardly her birthday is already on January 15, so I am a bit in a hurry. (She is rather tall, 1,80 m, and the scarf must not be too small, otherwise it will look like a hankerchief…).
Besides that, I am busy knitting the “Cardigan for Arwen”. The back is finished, but I will not show a picture of it since it is a rather boring, violet, plain rectangle in stockinette stitches.
