Nicht zu glauben, aber wahr: Dieses Wochenende wird er fertig, der cornische Guernsey (Gansey, Knit-Frock, wie auch immer). Ich kann es kaum glauben, dass dieses gigantische Teil mal ein Ende hat und langweile meine LeserInnen und mich daher mit einem Foto des traditionellen Unterarmzwickels, der für Nichtfischer zwar nicht unbedingt Sinn macht, aber traditionell zum Guernsey gehört.
Als ich das Loch in den Ärmel brannte, legte ich das Gelübde ab, kein anderes Projekt anzufassen, bis der Guernsey nicht fertig wäre. Und das hat sich gelohnt.

It’ s hard to believe, but it’s true: I will finish the Cornish Guernsey (Gansey, Knit-Frock, whatever) this weekend! I am highly amazed that this huge project will come to an end after all. Therefore I bore my readers and myself to death with a picture of the underarm gusset. This is not really necessary for non-fishermen like us, but it’s a traditional part of a guernsey (gansey, knit-frock…)
When I burned the sleeve of my sweater, I took the vow not to touch any other knitting project until the guernsey will be finished. And this is rather rewarding, I think.
